Franchise Advisory Board
The Franchise Bureau in the Office of the Attorney General registers and monitors franchisors and brokers who seek to sell franchises in Illinois. It adheres to the Franchise Disclosure Act, which provide presales disclosures and protection for prospective franchisees. This bureau’s board, the Franchise Advisory Board, is made up of members who have knowledge and experience in franchising and advise the Attorney General on franchising and franchise-related matters.
The Franchise Advisory Board, from time to time, shall make recommendations concerning the administration and enforcement of the Franchise Disclosure Act, as well as serve at the pleasure of the Administrator. Additionally, the board has the power to select its own chairman, establish rules and procedures, and keep a record of matters transpiring at all meetings.
